Group R : COVID-19 Analysis

Introduction

• COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in mid-March 2020 and since then cases of COVID-19 has seen a tremendous increase. As of current there has been over 95 million cases worldwide.

• Our project is to create COVID-19 analysis where it address the following questions:

  1. Which countries has a lot of COVID-19 cases?
  2. Which countries has high fatality rate?
  3. How many deaths recorded in each country?
  4. How many cases recorded in each country?
  5. How many COVID-19 tests have been taken in each country?

About the Data

• Datasets that we used are obtained from:

  https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus

• Data format is in csv format and has COVID-19 data from all countries starting late January until end of December 2020.

• 33 attributes with 55,478 observations.

• Only 7 attributes are used in this project.

COVID-19 Analysis App

Our app contains

1. Maps that shows countries with COVID-19 cases.
2. Maps that shows countries with fatality rates.
3. Graphs that shows monthly analysis of COVID-19 cases.

Summary

In summary, our shiny application provides descriptive analysis of COVID-19 cases worldwide and users can search on individual countries COVID-19 cases easily.

We find this project a great exposure into data analytics tools and used data science process throughout this entire project.
