Visualizing maps

Metro Manila population

It’s really fun to visualize maps. There’s a lot of things that you could understand on a geographical perspective. For instance, we can visualize the population of each city in a state or region. Here’s the map displaying the number of population in each city of Philippines’ capital region.

The data was sourced from Wikipedia, which still has the 2015 census. Based on the map, it’s pretty obvious that Quezon City has the largest population. It is followed by Manila, and Caloocan, which may not be that obvious. Try zooming in, and move the map around to see more details.

Top tourist destinations in the Philippines

guidetothephilippines.ph listed down the top 15 tourist spots in the Philippines. Hopefully, after the pandemic, I could go to some of these places, especially, Mayon and Taal Volcano, and Calle Crisologo.

I’m not really a traveller so I haven’t gone to many places yet. But I’m hoping to visit just a couple of places. First, I want to see the beauty of the Mayon volcano in Albay. This is known for its perfect cone shape. Also, I want to visit Taal volcano, the smallest active volcano in Asia. I don’t know but I love seeing mountains and volcanoes. It’s soothing to see. Then, Calle Crisologo. It’s known for being a well-preserved streets that have been there since the Spanish occupation. And last, which is my dream destination, Batanes. Batanes is a group of small islands that is close to the Pacific ocean. This is my dream retirement plan, to live in Batanes. Why? The place is so simple, yet, has an astounding beauty. Green fields, blue vast ocean, and very calming ambience. Simply Google it to see for yourself.

Try these places if you’ll visit the Philippines in the future (after the pandemic).
