Installing R GUI and R Studio

##Install R for Windows users: Installing R on Windows 10 is very straightforward. The easiest way is to install it through CRAN, which stands for The Comprehensive R Archive Network. Just visit the CRAN downloads page and follow the links as shown in the video below: Open: http://r-project.org

To download R, please choose your preferred CRAN mirror and than choose location. If you can not find Bosnia and Hezegovina, than choose USA.

Download R for Linux Download R for (Mac) OS X Download R for Windows

##R is part of many Linux distributions you should check with your Linux package management system in addition to the link above.

If you install R for the first time, there is a link on top of the page Choose Download R for Windows and save .exe file on your PC. Run .exe file and follow further instruction. Now, congrats! You have just installed R, and now you should only install RStudio.

  1. Open http://rstudio.com and choose Download RStudio.
  2. Click Download RStudio Desktop.
  3. Please choose your recommended file for your computer and save .exe file
  4. Run .exe file and now follow further instruction

##Install R for Mac users: 1.open http://r-project.org. Click download R in the middle of page: Getting started. 2.Choose CRAN location and click recommendation link for your computer. 3.Than Download R for (Mac) OS X. 4.Choose latest version and save Files. 5.Save .pkg file and click twice to open, than follow further instructions. Now congrats you have just installed R, but now you should only install RStudio. Install Rstudio for Mac users Go to http://rstudio.com and click Download RStudio Desktop. Click the version which is recommended for your computer and save .dmg file

Run .dmg file on your computer. Click twicw to open, than >drag and drop< into your forlder for application.

#How to check latest R version 1. check the latest version of R by this code: version in your consola it will list your last vesrion, number of packagages etc. Now, let’s say you want to update your R version. Follow instructions:

Update R Recommended: 1.turn off R Studio and open RGUI (Icon you installed first) 2.check if package „installr” is installed: library (installr) If it is not: a)please use followin code: if(!require(installr)) { install.packages(“installr”); require(installr) } or b) install.packages(“installr”) library (installr) 3.updateR() than wait for a while to update your R, turn off R Gui Check your latest R version by following code: version Sometimes R requires to remove one package so it can be replaced during instalation by other Following code for removing package: remove.packages(„name_package")
