## According to the regression analysis conducted, there is a statistically significant association between mothers smoking habits, adjusted family income and childhood bmi. Overall as adjusted family income increases per unit value, childhood bmi lowers on average by -4.07, while mothers smoking who did smoke had children whose bmi was on average 7.88 higher than mothers who did not smoke, holding all other variables in the model constant.

##10). Interpret the coefficients of sex, child’s age and race variables from the model from 9).

## Model number 2's results indicate childrens sex, and white children do not have a statistically significant association with child hood bmi compared to black children. While the other racial based children and the children age does in fact have a statistically significant association with childhood bmi compared to black children. Being white had on average 1.91 less while other racial children had on average a lower bmi on average of 2.15 compared to black children respectively. Childrens age proved to have a statistically significant association with childhood bmi, which indicates as children per each unit increase in age their bmi will increase on average by 6.53, holding all other variables constant.

##11). Compare the regression model from 7) to the more advanced model from 9), which model is preferred? Why? (Make sure you run proper test to support your claim.)

## According to the two models we have the adjusted r square of model two indicates it is a much better fit than the original less complex one.
## anova(mreg, mreg2) I would have done this, but instead i read the adjusted r square. I tried to run the anova, but got that error and couldn't find a reasonable solution, one of which said get rid of all my missing values, which i did in my regression items, didnt work.

##12). Interpret the R-square and adjusted R-square from the preferred model.

## Model two indicates the variables in our model accounts for 12% of the variation of childhood obesity. More adequate items such as children race, age, and those included in model two increased the adjusted r2 but, it is still relatively low overall. Our adjusted r2 means the variables in the model are not that good of a fit.

## According to the ad.test the residuals are not normally distributed, additional plots and histograms were developed to indicate this distribution. There appears to be much variance within the model as far as residuals. As far as other assumptions it feels like some relevant independent variables were excluded, like personally i feel the region of the country could play a decent role in childhood bmi, but with the variables available that possibly was not included. Its possible there are way too many irrelevant independent variables such as mothers smoking habits in here. 

## Part 2. To fix these solutions, i propose adding in, or excluding certain independent variables to help strengthen the model. In model 2 additional models related to relevant demographic or behavioral patterns will better the model overall. Since appears there are issues with fit, and normality we could try transforming both the dependent variables, and some of the independent variables. I really dont think there are measurement issues, or other types thus far. I do believe in the dependent variable there is probably alot of variation, which again could muddy the results, which according to the boxplot there are a lot of outliers, the x variable does not immediately appear to be normally distributed.

##14). Based on the analysis you’ve done so far, write a short paragraph to summarize your findings regarding the relationship between family socioeconomic background and child’s body mass index.

## In regards to the relationship between socioeconomic background and child's body mass (cbmi) index several key findings were demonstrated in the current models. There are statistically significant relationships between race, age, and family income, and the age of the child on cbmi. In the original model family income and mothers smoking habits (informed by our literature) were found to have a negative and positive effect respectively. However the association between mothers smoking and cbmi disappeared when other key demographic variables were introduced to the model such as children age and race. In the extended model, for each unit increase in family income cbmi would decrease in average by 5.70, and the other racial category have a difference in cbmi on average of about 2.15. For each unit increase in age, cbmi would increase on average by 6.53, these associations are statistically significant holding all other variabels in the model constant.
