Analyzing NCAA Women Basketball
it was published on October,6th 2020. So this is a fairly recent video.
The source of the data was from Fiuvethirtyeight. Every row represents one team/school and all of its data of there performance throughout the tournament. There were a lot of observations, from what I analyzed there were 2,092. Also, there were a lot of variables used to analyze this data, some are, year,school,seed,conference, conf_w, conf_l, conf_percent, conf_place, reg_w and reg_l.
Dave approached each step very closelt as he was making sure all the data he was looking at was correct andd in the right places. But first he just went through all the data given and learned about ome of the information before getting into it. Then, he started off by looking at the seeds and # of wins the avergae seeds get. Then he started making some graphs to show the data of how fat each team has gone in the toutnament over the last 25 years.
I saw a lot I learned in class in this video, but a lot of it was more indepth in my opinion, If that makes anysense. I saw the way he organized and implented the data into R is how we did it. Aswell as going back from the data to R to get the correct information. Also how he used tidy and all the rstudio tools to make it easier to analyze the data sets.
A major finding from the analysis is that the top teams of women basketball have been the same for the past 25 years. Uconn, tennesee, standford and baylor have been very dominant. Also, the lower the seed the less likely you will go all the way to the national final.
I am a huge basjetbvall guy, so when i can take my schoolmwork and tie it into my hobbies and personal interest I enjoy doing my work and It makes it easier.
