Geography of Global Happiness And Alcohol

Both the happiness index and the total alcohol consumption are divided into 4 categories, representing the happiness score from low to high, and the alcohol consumption from less to huge. Through rough observation, we found that the consumption of alcohol in high happiness score countries or regions (orange and red areas) is not less (red and orange areas). Such as Europe, North America and Oceania.

Relationship Between Happiness And Alcohol

Alcohol consumption has a positive correlation with happiness score. The images show that in countries or regions with high levels of happiness, the average annual sales volume of alcohol consumption per person is also very large. Relatively low happiness score countries or regions consume relatively little alcohol.

However, this correlation is not very obvious from the image. It is possible that different types of alcohol consumption and happiness score will show a more obvious relationship. Next we will to study about it.

Relationship Between Happiness And Different Alcohol (1)

By studying the relationship between the consumption of different alcoholic beverages and the happiness score, we found that the consumption of beer and wine is significantly positively correlated with the happiness score. Especially beer, the higher the happiness index, the higher the per capita consumption of beer in countries or regions.

Relationship Between Happiness And Different Alcohol (2)

Although the consumption of the other two major alcoholic beverages is significantly positively correlated with the happiness score. However, Spirit consumption does not show a clear correlation with the happiness score.

Conclusion

Through the previous study, we can conclude that although not all alcoholic beverage consumption has a significant correlation with the happiness score. But, overall per capita alcohol consumption is positively correlated with the level of happiness score. Especially beer, countries with high consumption have a high probability of happiness score.
