Suicide! A threat to humankind. India is the largest country to contribute to the absolute number of suicides across the world.
On an average basis 318 people commit suicide in India. This Visualization shows the suicidal deaths from the year 2001 to 2012.
By the analysis across 3 states in India we can observe that among 3 states in India namely Karnataka, Maharastra and Punjab, Maharastra has the highest number of suicidal deaths from the year 2001 to 2012.
The major reason for suicide across all these states are Unemployment and poverty. It’s very strange to see that the suicide ratio between the age of 0-14 years and 15-29 years is more.
When compared between males and females, we see that the suicidal death of Male is 2 times of Female.
