I have been a Program Coordinator for the UC School of Social Work for the last 5 years. I developed a student database to better track academic performance, help faculty with advising, and guide students on their learning path. I constructed a new system for faculty to review graduate applications, developed the training materials, and trained the faculty. This system helped reduce the turnaround time for decision-making by several weeks and yielded an increase in incoming students for three years in a row, despite increased competition.
In my previous role I was Undergraduate Admission Systems Coordinator at Regis College in Weston, MA. I oversaw an initiative to move our application review process to a cloud-based iPad app. My efforts yielded a custom app that enabled counselors to read applications more efficiently, reduced the manual coding of decisions, and minimized redundancy and paper waste. I also maintained the student database, ran integrity checks, generated weekly statistical reports, processed incoming applications, and managed and trained student workers.
I have used R previously to clean data sets and conduct statistical analysis. I am currently working on a project for a company in which I use R to clean and format data from employee surveys to import into their final presentation format and derive insights for stakeholders.
