Academic Background

Professional/Work Background

Because I love teaching, I have sought multiple work opportunities related to teaching. In doing so, I have gained experience teaching 15 sections of both mathematics and business analytics courses covering topics such as regression analysis, optimization, simulation, calculus, applied statistics, predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, and decision modeling. I truly enjoy teaching and engaging students in the classroom. At the University of Cincinnati (UC), I have been honored to receive both the mathematics department’s Graduate Student Award for Teaching Excellence and also the Arts & Sciences (A&S) college-level Graduate Student Award for Teaching Excellence. While a student at UC, I also completed the Preparing Future Faculty program. In this program, I explored various pedagogical practices, and I learned to use the latest research in innovative pedagogy to inform my teaching practice. Also while at UC, I received the Taft Graduate Student Dissertation Research Fellowship, a competitive award provided to PhD students at the University of Cincinnati who have demonstrated excellence in their dissertation research. As a result of my scholarly activity, I have had three papers accepted for publication in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals (two mathematics publications and one business research publication). Further, I also have substantial leadership experience through service in UC’s Graduate Student Government (GSG). In this capacity (one term as treasurer of the general GSG, one term as vice-president of the general GSG, and multiple terms as president of the math GSG), I represented, supported, and advocated for the research and learning needs of a body of nearly 11,000 graduate students at the University of Cincinnati.

Experience in R

I have used R in multiple graduate-level courses as a student at the University of Cincinnati, and I also frequently use R to perform simulation and data analysis in my research.

Experience with Other Analytic Software

Additionally, I also have experience using the following software:
