I’m Ashley, a student in the MS Business Analytics program at the University of Cincinnati. I will be graduating from the program in December 2020 and hope to pursue a career in data science. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, performing in musicals, and trying different craft beers around Cincinnati!

Professional Background

I have completed three different internship/co-op experiences throughout my time at the University of Cincinnati. The first was at Illumination Research in Mason, Ohio where I was part of the quantitative team. My main function in this role was to program surveys, distribute them, and then analyze the results and provide recommendations to clients.

The next year, I joined SHP, an architecture and design firm in downtown Cincinnati, as their marketing co-op. This was a change of pace for me and I was able to learn Photoshop, iMovie, and other creative tools to design marketing materials.

Finally, my most recent co-op was with Paycor where I was a part of the sales operations team. In this role I created reports and dashboards for both the sales and marketing teams. I was also able to use R to perform some regression analysis on sales data to determine factors that impacted win rate.

Experience with R

Most of the classes I’ve taken at the University of Cincinnati (both undergraduate and graduate level) have used R so it is my preferred programming language. I’ve only had the opportunity to use R in a professional setting once, so most of my experience comes from class projects.
