Samples summary

Overall N = 19 nests were handled, aiming both partners and the chick. However, in one nest only a single parent sample then nest excluded as turned out to be a late breeder (the parent were incubating when samped), then in two nests the chick could not be sampled (surv = 0). So in total there would be 16 complete nests with the blood samples (and at least 2 experiment sessions; for expriment detailes see next section of the report). See detailed list of nests and number of samples per ind, below.


Nsamples = 1 means single sampling of given ind (just blood)
Nsamples = 2 means single sampling of given ind (both blood and feathers)
Nsamples = 3 means double sampling of given ind (with both blood and feathers at the first sampling and just blood at the second - during the accelerometer retrival)

Accelerometers

Of 12 loggers received one did not work (never deployed). Then of 14 deployments 8 retrived (with good data); retrival rate = 57.1 % (failed to recapture mostly due to late deployment, in one case because of chick died and parent become incapturable).

  • behtox_captdt - all details for captured and blood sampled birds (both adults and chicks), legend for the table in txt file: CapturingDt_template_legend.txt

  • behtox_chg_expdt - all chick measurments (only exprimental set included; controls are available in a decent sample size, at least 20)

  • behtox_nestctrldt - raw data of nests control (for hatching and fleding nests controled daily, so hatching/fledging dates with 1 day accuracy)

  • behtox_phenosum - recalculated based on the behtox_nestctrldt content; overall history of the nest (hatching and fledging dates, and overall chick survival)
