This Systems Engineering group designed a network to evaluate terrorist activity based on shared activity.Terrorism methods change rapidly and activity from one group can have influence on the activity of another. E.g. suicide attacks have increased over the last decade because of their rate of success. This Agent-Based model is created with data that only covers the previous year to keep predictions based off of recent activity.

In the ABM each agent is an attack event, and each event has nine attributes. Each environment has a ‘defense level’ attribute, which changes based on the chance an attack will happen in the area.

The actual number of terrorist attacks belonging to Al-qaida and ISIS, and this model’s predicted terrorist activity and visualized node network.
