Description:

Roger Bruinekool was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1935. A graduate of Kendall School of Design, his oil on canvas painting “Eye See You” was acquired by the City in March of 1975. The large canvas was initially displayed on the 6th floor of City Hall.

Steven Dykstra’s piece “Stairs” won the 1976 Festival of the Arts Purchase Prize Award. The black and white photograph shows two identical sets of stairs in upright and upside down positions.

Description:

Douglas Huston was a Senior at Michigan State University when he donated his etching “Poor Little Allyson” to the City. The etching has tones of sephia and was printed using a photo-etching process that Mr. Huston helped to develop. The print originally was hung on the second floor of City Hall.
