Meet Timo Werner (pronounced Verner).
Timo is German, born in Stuttgart, Germany. He’s 24 years old and is very very good. He comes over from the German League (Bundesliga), where he claimed the domestic records for being the youngest player to reach 50, 100, 150 and 200 appearances (although the former two milestones were broken by Kai Havertz, more on him later).
He most recently played for RB Leipzig (the Red Bull Team).
What Timo does is score goals. He is known for his acceleration and quickness, and ability to make runs in to the box. In the last 2 seasons he’s scored 44 goals in 64 games, so about 2 goals every 3 games. That’s a lot. He scores in a lot of different ways, using both feet and his head.
He plays as a center-forward, so at the top of the field and he’ll wear the number 11.
Meet Kai Havertz, Timo Werners German friend.
Kai is only 21, and is developing into potentially the best German player of his age group. He was mentioned above as starting to break Werners records in Germany.
He plays in the midfield, and is skilled at passing as well as scoring goals. Last season ay Bayer Leverkusen he had 12 goals and 6 assists in 30 games. He particularly likes scoring spectacular goals and make great passes to players running in on goal. That’s part of why him and Werner should work well together.
He’ll wear number 29, and probably play on the right side of the midfield.
