Overview of South African Voting stations

The identification of voting stations in South Africa is determined by the Delimination Directorate within IEC. The primary aim of demarcating voting districts and voting stations is to minimise voter inconvenience. As such, the IEC has a some guideline on how to determine these voting districts and the number of voting stations. These include: 1.The geographic size and number of voters. 2.Urban voting districts contain some 3,000 voters located within a radius of some 7,5 km of the voting station. 3.Rural voting districts accommodate some 1,200 voters located within a radius of some 10 km of the voting station.
