Brief introduction

The Worldwide Map Service (https://hyf200408.shinyapps.io/CPforDDP/) is the course project for “Developing Data Products” of Data Science series on Coursera. It allows the user to locate himself or herself on OpenStreetMap and attach a user-defined tag to the very location.

Sidebar design - coordinate input

  • Users should fill their coordinates by latitudes and longitudes in certain blanks as requested by the documentation.
  • The produced map would then be centered around the provided coordinate.
  • The latitudes should be within the interval (-90, 90), and the longitudes should be within the interval (-180, 180).

Sidebar design - tag input

  • The tag name should be entered into the required box as well.
  • When the tag in the map is clicked on, the same text should pop up as the user has just entered.
  • The default tag name is “In the middle of nowhere”.

Embedded R code

The full application cannot be demonstrated in this pitch presentation. Here another code chunk is embedded instead to fullfill the project requirements.
