U-Beginner : Study Pathway for Students after SPM

Our app is targeted for students interested in pursuing a higher education in Malaysia after SPM.

Many of them are unsure of how to do so, this would be a great platform for them to explore and obtain desired information.

Our apps consisted of 3 main features:

• Institution Finder
• Malaysia University rank in World Ranking
• Study Pathway Overview

Dataset Used :

• the QS University Ranking for universities in Malaysia from 2004 to 2020

• renderUI(): Assigning UI to outputs that appear in user interface
• uiOutput(): Create an HTML output element
• tags$a(): Create a link to a web page
• column(): Arrange all outputs in a column form
• img(): Plot an image file
• href: The address of the web page to link to
• src: The source of image to embed
• table(): Plot the output in table
• grViz():Plot a flowchart

Key areas of knowledge gained:

• Shiny app architecture: user-friendly and interactive
• Learned new R features: plotting flow chart and create table
• Data Processing Pipeline: put theoretical knowledge into practice
