Access to Clean Drinking Water is Increasing Across the Globe.

The percentage (%) of the population with basic access to clean drinking water in the year 2000 and the year 2017:
Based on 187 countries and territories monitored by the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene. Basic access to clean drinking water is defined a contaminent free, reliable source of water within a 30 minute round trip to collect. Countries and territories were only included in this analysis if they were monitored in both 2000 and 2017. Maps are ordered by areas needing the most improvement to areas needing the least improvement.
