Q6 What would be a possible project you may turn in for the competition? Describe it in at least 100 words.

One possible project that i could turn in for the National Investment Banking Competition is a portfolio comprised of many different stocks that i would research using many different sources and create charts on Rstudio Cloud. This would be a great help because i would be able to choose which stocks for my portfolio that would help me the most in the competition. It would give me their price and the amount of risk they have so i could make a balanced investment portfolio.

Q7 List things that you learned in financial modeling course that could be helpful for your project in Q6. Describe it in at least 100 words.

Things that would help with my project that I learned in were the different types if graphs I could use to show prices and currency exchange. The act of coding is a great help to projects and comeptitions like this because it can give me many different ways to work with it. Coding and graphing using Rstudio cloud is a very big help because it is so versitile.

Q8 List things that you learned in other finance courses at PSU that could be helpful for your project in Q6. Describe it in at least 100 words.

I learned how to read balance sheets and income statements in many of my classes so i could use those to determine how a company is doing as well as how that may impact their stock price. I also learned how to read many different charts in business statistics so i can use the skills i learned in that class to help with the project i would create with a variety of graphs and charts.

Q9 Check the finance blog below and see if you see any post that may be helpful for your project in Q6. Discuss how it can be helpful in at least 100 words. Hint: The author of the blog writes articles on financial analysis using R. https://rviews.rstudio.com/categories/reproducible-finance-with-r/

Daily Volumes, Holidays and BLS Reports 2020-01-06 by Jonathan Regenstein seems like an article that could help a lot with the project, it explains a few different ways to gather more data about businesses and their stocks. It allows me to know how well they are going to do over the holidays as well as their daily volumes so i could find an average to how much they make a day which could lead to dividens per share.

Q10 List things that you think could be helpful but not taught/offered at PSU finance courses. Discuss how it can be helpful in at least 100 words.

On the school campus there is an investment club but since not everyone has enough time to participate it would be cool if the school had an investment class where you were given a small budget and taught how to properly invest the money by reading up on articles and business models. This would allow students to have a good chance in this competition and in the stock market.
