Import data

library(tidyverse)

tv_ratings <- read.csv("https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rfordatascience/tidytuesday/master/data/2019/2019-01-08/IMDb_Economist_tv_ratings.csv")

Description of the data and definition of variables

The data is showing the average rating of different television shows while also showing the ratings for each individual season. The data also tells you the genre of the show. One thing that can be examined through this data set is determining if most shows get better or worse as the seasons go on. ## Visualize data Hint: One graph of your choice.

tv_ratings %>%
  count(seasonNumber) %>%
  ggplot(aes(seasonNumber, n)) +
  geom_line()

What is the story behind the graph?

The story behind the graph is that it is showing the average rating and amount of viewers as seasons increase in a show. The graph indcates that as the seasons continue to air on tv, the ratings and amount of viewers will start to decrease. In conclusion any show that has more than about 10 seasons will not make it past that 10’th season in fact, it is hard to make it past 7 or 8 seasons.
