A new R package named “Covdata” accesses a dataset that documents worldwide national policies to fight the pandemic.

Here is what I found, when I looked at Mali.

Is the Bamako Region really getting 20 million masks?

[...] The LBMA is part of: Mali's "One Health" platform; the National Institute of Public Health's (INSP) COVID19 algorithm for the management of suspected cases of disease."
## 8                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             On March 17th, Mali bans all commercial flights from unspecified countries affected by the coronavirus, with the exception of cargo flights, effective on March 19th 2020.

## 10                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    On March 25 2020, President of Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, declared a state of health emergency.
## 11                                                                                                                                         On March 25th, in a televised address, President Keita 'announced the implementation of a nationwide curfew between 21:00 and 05:00 (local time) as of Friday, March 27, that will remain in place until further notice'. The national police is responsible for controlling the compliance with the curfew. 
## 12                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          In Mali, the national parliamentary elections on March 29 2020 (1st round) were maintained, a day after the country's first coronavirus death. The second round was hold on April 19, 2020. 
## 13                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    On March 30th, Mali announced reduced work hours to 7h30 to 2pm without any breaks, effective wednesday april 1st.
## 14                    On April 9th 2020, "the Malian Parliament unanimously approved the ratification of the treaty establishing the African Medicines Agency (AMA) as a specialised agency of the African Union (AU). Mali is the second country who ratified, after Rwanda. [...] The treaty will enter into force once fifteen AU member states have ratified it." The aim is to promote the regulation of medical products on the African continent.
## 15 On april 10th, Mali's ministry of health formally bans all commercialization of chloroquine phosphate and discourages the consumption of the product, which does not meet certain pharmaceutical norms yet is confused with chloroquine which is thought to help fight to virus. The ministry encourages the cooperation of importers, sellers, and consumers. Any person found in possession of this medicine will be subject to legal consequences.
## 16                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          On April 10th, Mali's president Keita announced the 'un malien, un masque' policy, in which he announces ordering 20 million masks for the region of Bamako.
