Analyzing franchise revenue
July 22, 2019
Hint: What’s the source of the data; what does the row represent; how many observations?; what are the variables; and what do they mean?
The data analizes the revenue of 103 different companies and the different revenue categories they have to generate to make revenue. For example the franchise, A Song Of Ice And Fire, generates their revenue in 5 categories, Book Sales, Box Office, home video/entertainment, tv and video games. look at the most profitable franchise of all time and the number one is Pokemon with most of its profit coming from merchendise and video games.
Hint: For example, importing data, understanding the data, data exploration, etc.
Dave took each part step by step and analized every category and every variable and found out its key componets. For example Dave looks at franchise by owner from the media/tv category and the leader in that is Walt Disney.
Something in this video that I learned from class is that you need to play around with the data to get the clear results you are looking for you may not get it right the first time. Like in class we would fix the code then knit the data and see how it works you will most likly not get the results you are looking for right away.
The major finding from the video I watched was how revenue can be split up into groups to make profit its not all from the same category.
The most intersting thing I liked from my analysis was how much revenue Walt Disney pulls in from their entertainment it is much more than other companies in the data.
