Analyzing Women’s World Cup data
July 23rd, 2019
Hint: What’s the source of the data; what does the row represent; how many observations?; what are the variables; and what do they mean?
Hint: For example, importing data, understanding the data, data exploration, etc. Dave approached the analysis of each step by understanding the data and exploration. In the video there were several links where he could choose from. Like play-by-play data, predictions articler and prediction data. He then entered codes into Rstudio for countries teams. Also imports data about if teams win and lose at each stage. Can see how many games played. Also import data to see how many goals each team scored. Also had a bar chart of teams that lost never scored more than 4 goals. Can also compare all recent games of each country.
The only thing i could see in the video that i learned in class is importating data and learning to understand the data provided. Also the ussage of codes and stuff.
A major finding from the anaylysis is that performance in the group round predict winners. I was shocked to see how the data came out. Like in 2011 the USA scored more than Japan but Japan won the tournament. ## Q8 What is the most interesting thing you really liked about the analysis. The most interesting thing I learned from the analysis was the fact that he could pretty much import all the data for the questions he was asking. For example like a scatter plot of Substitutions, shots blocked and saved. Foul commited, injury timeout. Half time start. Dribble dribbled past, Clearence, ball recovery. Its just amazing that he was able to import that data type. Also i liked how he could see which players were most involved in the 2019 finals. ## Q9 Display the title and your name correctly at the top of the webpage.
