I analyzed mobility trends in the five PA counties in our region, using data from Google and an analytics startup called Descartes Lab.

Since Descartes Lab’s data doesn’t show where people went, I also took a look at Google’s COVID-19 Social Mobility Reports.

Google’s reports are created based on data from a subset of people who have opted-in to Location History for their Google Account, which means the numbers may not represent the entire populations.
The percentages were calculated based on median values, for the corresponding day of the week, during the 5-week period Jan 3–Feb 6, 2020.
The latest Google’s COVID-19 Social Mobility Report shows that residents in our region have been making more travels to grocery stores and pharmacies from early April.
