The purpose of creating the survey was to statistically analyze patterns in individual’s decisions regarding vaccinations, particularly as the COVID-19 vaccine is in development.
I created a survey, which can be found here. The six questions were as follows:
1. Do you receive an annual flu shot? (Yes, Occasionally, No)
2. If you had a newborn baby, would you keep up with routine vaccinations for your child? (Yes, No)
3. If you answered no to the previous question, can you explain why you are hesitant to give your child a vaccine?
4. Did you know that there is no link between autism and vaccines? (article here) (Yes, No)
5. Are you aware that researchers are currently developing vaccines that fight against COVID-19? (Yes, No)
6. If researchers produced a vaccine for COVID-19, would you choose to have the vaccine administered to yourself and your family? (Yes, No)
I shared the link to the survey on Facebook, and the link was shared multiple times.
Thanks to the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, Biostatistics Division for covering the cost of the survey, as well as the 454 people who filled out this survey!
As of Apr 16, 2020 19:52:11, we currently have 454 survey responses included in our data frame. Additionally, almost everyone who has completed this survey said yes to question 5 (Are you aware that researchers are currently developing vaccines that fight against COVID-19?) so no analysis will be conducted on that question.
