StillBirth: StillBirth is the birth of an infant that has died in the womb (strictly, after having survived through at least the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, earlier instances being regarded as abortion or miscarriage).

Above ,summary function shows six outputs i.e. Maximum value, 1st quartile, Mean, Median , 3rd quartile and Min value of each variable in the data frame. Here variables are each year from 2010 to 2013 which contains data of stillbirth of states and Union Territories of India.

StillBirth data of India from 2010 to 2013. Still birth is one of the important indicator of quality of public health services in any country. Here we will look on some data on Still Birth in India. Data Source -https://data.gov.in

We check first with col means to see the average of stillbirths in India for each year which includes all states and UT.

colMeans(StillBirth[3:6])
## Still Births-10 Still Births-11 Still Births-12 Still Births-13
## 9005.286 8772.314 10426.143 10149.200

Now to check which state has maximum stillbirth in 2013.

which.max(StillBirth$`Still Births-13`)
## [1] 16
StillBirth$State[16]
## [1] "Uttar Pradesh"
StillBirth$Categories[16]
## [1] "Major States"
StillBirth[16,6]
## # A tibble: 1 x 1
## `Still Births-13`
## <dbl>
## 1 70175

As we can see above that Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of still birth in 2013 among all states in India and value of it is 70175.As our code output shows it comes under category of Major states.

Now we will check the median value of stillbirth in year 2013 to avoid extreme values which may skew our mean value.

median(StillBirth$`Still Births-13`)
## [1] 3185

As we can interpret from code output that mean value and median value of year 2013 differs substancially.

Next time we will look for more insights from this data. Thank you.

Welcome back. Last time we work upon the data on stillBirth in India from 2010- 2013.Now we will do some more analysis. Last time we have observed that state of UttarPradesh has highest stillbirth in 2013 ,but we should not forget, that at the same time it is most populuous state of India. This raises our curosity to know the yearwise stillbirth in uttar pradesh.so we will plot a barchart of yearwise stillbirth in U.P.

stillbirth<-c(45925,47372,78954,70175)
 year<-c("2010","2011","2012","2013")
library(lattice)
plot(barchart(stillbirth ~ year, origin = 0,xlab="Years",ylab="stillbirth",label="stillbirth",main="StillBirth in UttarPradesh from 2010 to 2013"))

As we can see the still birth in Uttar Pradesh increased hugely from 2011 to 2012, which may raise our curosity that why it has happened.
