Kaiwen Xu Introduction

Hi my name is Kaiwen Xu and you can call me Calvin. I am currently a part time student in BANA program in University of Cincinnati. I am working as a Cost Accountant and Statistician in Fuyao Glass America located in Dayton.

This is me when I just got in UC BANA Program in 2019.

Academic Background

• B.S. Mathematics with concentration in Statistics and a Minor in Economics, College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA
• M.S. Business Analytics, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH

Professional Background

After graduating from College of William and Mary, I was hired by Fuyao Glass America as a Statistician, and became a Cost Accountant after a few months. Starting July 2017, I have been working for the Automobile glass manufacturer for almost 3 years.

• Generate cost budget for ARG factory and Encapsulation Factory using Sales forecast, headcount, BOM usage, etc. Setting cost and KPI statistical targets for the factory for 2020
• Post journal entries to adjust for inventory valuation, overhead, and COGS
• Generate monthly cost report to visualize the unit cost for each variable and fixed cost component for each program verses the budget as well as income statement and financial report analysis for the responsible factories which allow management to see what the factory did well or where they need to adjust cost management
• Maintain the process routing and standard rate for each work center to reduce standard cost variance
• Conduct monthly cost presentation to Chinese and American management team, answer questions from the factory management leading to the improve of public speaking and presentation skills

I have passed CFA level 1 exam in 2019 and want to break into the field of quantitative analysis and portfolio management.
