CELEBRATIES INFLUENCE IN BABY NAMES

I chose to analyze how celebrities’ names over time. I will analyze about three celebrities and how people name their children after them within the peak of their careers. Musicians like Adele, Drake and “North” Kanye West’s Son. I will use babynames package using to evaluate these names and how celebrities come into play. Adele is a United Kingdom-based artist who over the years, has been making music and she finally had a hit album in 2011. Aubrey Drake Graham is a Canadian/US music artist, a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and businessman. Drake initially gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi. He made his debut album in 2010 and it became a hit once again I will use babynames package to analyze his influence during that period and the years ahead when he became less popular. The name North has never been common until Kanye West used it to name his daughter. Using babynames will also determine his celebrity influence.

Adele

Adele is an old English name that was significant in the past back in the 1940’s but over the years, the use of the name reduced. Below is a graphical representation of how the name Adele was used in the UK since her hit Album in 2011.

North

The name North has been unpopular over the years and the use of that name increased in 2013 Kanye West the music artist who is married to Kim Kardashian another Celebrity used the name North to name their first child. This became news since the name was new to most people all over the world. Below is a graphical representation of how the use of the name North increased during that period.

Drake

Aubrey Drake Graham is another celebrity who is a music artist. His Debut album which became a hit was dared back in 2010 using R-baby names package and plotting shows his influence in how his fans name their kids around that period as “Drake”.Below is a graphical representation of how his fans used the name, Drake in baby namings.

Conclusion

In conclusion base on the graphical presentation of various babynames data justifies the strong influence of celebrities in United States. The graphical Plots show a name like Adele went on a massive decline for decades until the singer Adele had music hit in 2011. On the other hand, it appears most of these names also had a decline after year on the celebrity’s peak in their career.
