Rotten Tomatoes is one of the best and truested recommender system for moveies. It provides a guide to fans which movie they should watch and which are the ones not to.

Curator:

These are the team whose jobs is to review thousands of movies weekly. They collect movies and TV reviews and generate Tomatometer score.

Tomatometer:

Based on the opinions of hundreds of film and television critics, tomatometer score is created which is basically a measurement score.This score is calculated for a movie or r TV show after it receives at least five reviews.

Audience Score

Audience Score is denoted by a popcorn bucket which is basically the users positive ratings for the movie or TV shows.

When at least 60% of the users give a star rating of 3.5 or higher then a full popcorn bucket is displayed to indicate its Fresh status and when less than 60% users rate 3.5 or higher then a tipped over popcorn bucket is displayed to indicate its Rotten status.

When at least 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive then a movie gets a red tomato which indicates it as a Fresh Status and if its less than 60% then a movie or a TV show gets a green splat to indicate its Rotten status.

Users can add reviews and rate the movie or TV show also.

Users can write reviews also about the movie or TV show or view reviews from other consumers too.
