The chemical structure of goserelin from: National Center for Biotechnology Information. PubChem Database. Goserelin, CID=5311128, https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/Goserelin (accessed on Mar. 8, 2020).
Gorerelin or Zoladex is a man-made form of luteinizing hormone releasing hormone so its mechanism of action is to interact with gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor and elicit a response as it is an agonist drug (National Center for Biotechnology Information, 2020). Similarly to leuprolide acetate it prevents the synthesis of testosterone in males and estradiol in females (National Center for Biotechnology Information, 2020). It is also used to treat forms of prostate cancer and has no permanent effects if use of the drug is ceased (National Center for Biotechnology Information, 2020).
