The New Mexico Kidney Foundation assessed dialysis providers’ knowledge and attitudes related to kidney transplant as a treatment option to their dialysis patients. 261 dialysis providers from dialsys centers across New Mexico completed the survey. Interestingly, of the average 13.5 years worked in dialysis, 60% of providers thought the best treatment option was kidney transplant. In addition, 55% of providers received kidney transplant education more than 1 year prior to completing the survey. Providers were receptive to different modalities of education to learn more about kidney transplant options for their dialysis patients.
