Manager History

Here’s a timeline of the managers in this league since the first season in 2011. This league started off with all Bruins, and 5 of the original managers are still in it, but I also like seeing the transition to new managers that will hopefully keep playing in this league for years to come.

How Are We All Connected?

So how do we all know each other, and where is everyone at these days? The original five (Brett B, Ed, Nicole, Jeff, and myself) were all at UCLA together when this thing started. Brett B is now in Michigan and I’m out in DC, while the other three are in SoCal. I worked with Brett G at GW and got him to join the leaue in 2013. He invited his friend from Ball State, Kevin, and the two of them have been perennial contenders in this year ever since. Brett G (Indiana) and Kevin (Iowa) round out our midwest contingent. Brett B has also done some recruiting over the years by bringing in his friend dating back to middle school (and last year’s runner-up) Mitch S, and his brother (and last year’s champ) Grant. They’re both in Sherman Oaks. The newest member of the league (and another Bruin!) is Mitch A. I didn’t meet Mitch until I moved to DC, but I’ve played in his fantasy baseball league for a couple seasons now and I’m sure he’ll bump up the competitiveness of this league even more!

Historical Standings

Since we’ve gone to the customized playoff format, the historical view of the league (through Yahoo) has gotten all screwed up. That has been bugging me, so I decided to put the historical standings here. You can sort the standings by season (wow, 14 teams in 2011), sort the overall or recent seasons average, and see who has taken home the championships over the years.

Head-To-Head Summary

This table summarizes the head-to-head results of all matchups since 2014, when this league became a dynasty league. You can use the boxes above each column to filter by any category, and you can use the sort function in tandem. One of my favorite things to do with this is to write in somebody’s name under Team, and then sort by matchups to see who they’ve faced off with the most. It’s an easy way to look at rivalries over the years (me vs Jeff or Brett G vs Kevin, to name a couple).

Matchup Archive

You might have looked at some of your matchup summaries above and wondered how those individual matchups went. Well, feel free to use this table to look back all the way to 2014!

Top Seasons

For a little motivation, check out the top 10 seasons by winning percentage since 2014. I calculated this using category wins and losses, so if you went 6-4 on a given week you’d receive 6 “wins.” Will anyone jump into the top 10 in 2020? And will anyone ever beat Brett G’s .682 record??

Keeper History

Back by popular demand (or did I make that up?), below is the keeper history for this league. Use the Search function to search by manager (to see specific manager selections), team (to view legacy keepers), or players (to see which guys have jumped around over the years). A quick search tells me that Robinson Cano has been kept by 3 different managers over the years - can anyone top that?
