I did a comparrison by distributor and both total box office and weekend box office

I never realized how difficult it can be to utilize temporal data. I was tipped off to do.call and I can see it’s usefulness.

I tried a number of different methods to get the left axis to show as dollar amounts but while I was always able to get it to coerce it wouldn’t plot. I would love to know if there is something I can read on it. I could only get the time portion to work as numeric.

stackoverflow clued me into subset which is easier than parsing the data off individually

Overall I am not super happy with the plot for this data, but I just couldn’t get a lot to work.

I used cowplot to arrange the graphs in a grid with information gleaned from Claus O. Wilke’s introduction to cowplot on CRAN. I also added a figure height/width to enlarge the plot once knitted. I initially had a legend and then removed it to avoid text crowding and it wasn’t inherently necessary.
