disussion 15:

Pick any exercise in Chapter 12 of the calculus textbook. Post the solution or your attempt. Discuss any issues you might have had.

Question 12.3- 23)f(x,y)=3x2+1. Find fx, fy, fxx, fyy, fxy, fyx.

Solution:

f(x,y)=3x2+1

fx(x,y)=∂/∂x(3x2+1)=6x

fy(x,y)=∂/∂y(3x2+1)=(3x2.0+0)=0

fxx(x,y)=∂/∂x(fx)=∂/∂x(6x)=6

fyy(x,y)=∂/∂y(fy)=∂/∂y(0)=0

fxy(x,y)=∂/∂y(fx)=∂/∂y(6x)=6x.(0)=0

fyx(x,y)=/∂∂x(fy)=∂/∂x(0)=0

What were the most valuable elements you took away from this course?

This course was really helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the discussions and homeworks.Whatever the knowledge i gained before is theory and i never implemented it in a practical way. This course gave me good exposure to linear Algebra, probability and statistics and calculus which are essential in the field of Data Science.
