In today’s society there are a lot of elements that can influence one’s outlook on politics. From one’s social upbringing, to the media one consummes to the peers one chooses to assoicate with my factors can shape one’s point of view. However, in today’s economy and in today’S political landscape more of those that are deemed finanically stable by society are more concern with the economic status and the outlock of their futures. In this look at employment status and gender and how it affect poltical out look there will be analysis of data by running crosstabs between employment status and gender with out variables with corelation to see how the dependent variable is affected by gender and specifically the respondents’ employment status. In this paper examination of three major social issues such as respondents’ view on the importance of tax, feeling towards immigrants and respondents view towards immigrant contriubutions. It is one’s contention that males are more favorable to immigration reform.
Firstly examniation of gender and political party identification was conducted, see table below. Mostly females identified as democrat and the not sure catergory. While males identifed as mostly other and the for the independent party category party. Retired category mostly fell under the Republican party. We will review this political afflications later on.
Another examination was done looking at respondents and their party identifcation and employment status. Overall most repondents were employed full time. The group with the most unemployment rate belonged to those respondents who were not sure of the poltical party that they wanted to affilated with as well as the student category.
There are a lot of poltical issue which are hot topic for politcal debate especaiily now during the present campaigning for 2020 presedential election. However, to narrow down this study only three dependent varaibles with be looked at those variables as aforementioned, are views on the importance of taxes, feeling towards illegal immigrants and feeling towards illegal immigrant contriubtion towards society. The first crosstab between employment status and the importance of tax see below. Those who were employed full time viewed taxes to be very important as well as those who were retired. Those who were part time or home mkers viewed as important however, the rate was not as high whe compared to those employed full time or those retired. Other employment categories barely showed any data regarding the view on taxes.

Further analysis was done on views of immigration, using the employment as the independent variable to see if there was any corelation. Based on employment status all those employed full time and retired seemed to be neutral in their views towards illegal immigrants with a slightl negative outlock belonging to those who were employed full time.

Finally, to investigate this further a cross tab was ran between the independent variable employment status and immigrant contribution (a) which details respondents view towards illegal immigrants. However, this time only those full time employed and those retired examined as other categories were filtered out. when examining those employed full time and those retired it every more clear that there is a negative skew towards illegal immirants and their contributions to society as the mostly a drain option beat mostly a contribution option slight for those employed full time and tohse retired also believed that immigrant were a drain on society. See table below.
Therefore, after looking at those varaibles and checking for corelation it is one contention that males will be more like to favor immigraion reform. As aforemenioned male respodents mostly identified other and independent when asked to reveal party identification. However, another category that was high in male respondents was the Republican party. Those employed full time were relatively spread even through out the categories. However, a large amount of respondents that were retired identfied as Republican. When examining views on taxes those who were employed full time viewed taxes to be very important as well as those who were retired. A Look at employment status showed that those employed full time and retired seemed to be neutral in their views towards illegal immigrants however when examining the view on immigrant contribution those retired respondent response was clear as represntive mostly a drain. Therefore, it is one contention that retired male Republicans are more favorable to immigration reform making it hard for immigrants to immigrate to the United States or get legal status due to their negative outlook on immigration and immigrant contribution towards society.
