Meet Tyler Creel

My name is Tyler Creel and I am a student at the University of Cincinnati. I was born and raised in Batavia, OH and have a huge passion for the Bengals Reds FCC Xavier BEARCATS!!. Aside from school and work, you can catch me on the golf course or spending time with my amazing friends and family!

Professional Background

Although I transitioned straight from undergraduate into the MS BANA Program, I feel that I have had some very effective internship experience that has set me up for success. While obtaining my bachelors degree I completed five internships across three different companies. The summary of my internships can be found below.

1. Meritor Heavy Vehicle Systems
2. DHL Express - USA
3. The Kroger Co.

I only completed one rotation each with Meritor and DHL Express as these were some of my first experiences. They provided me a great foundation for what was to come in my later experiences with Kroger. To date, I have completed three separate internships with Kroger all in different areas of their supply chain. Brief details are below:

• Supply Chain & Logistics Intern, 2016, General Office)
  • I Worked on the process improvement team based out of their corporate head quarters in Cincinnati where I gained my first glimpse of the supply chain and field operations.
• Distribution Operations Intern, 2018, Cincinnati Fresh Center
  • This was my first experience with field operations where I learned how to supervise the daily shipping operation in the freezer. I also furtherd my continuous improvement skills by implementing daily process controls on our salvage dock
• Automation Supervisor, 2019, Peytons Northern
  • This past summer I worked in Bluffton, IN where I supervised a crew of nearly 75 people daily. This was my first experience with automated technology and it was an incredible learning curve!

Upon graduation I have accepted a job with Kroger to work in their Supply Chain and Logistics Department!

Experience with R

My experience with R started nearly two months ago during the R Bootcamp that was hosted prior to the semester starting. After using a few other softwares just briefly, R has become my software of choice. Every class that I am currently enrolled in uses R as their preferred language.

Experience with Other Analytical Software

Before coding, I without a doubt defaulted to using excel. At this point in time I have very limited exposure to SQL and Python. A few other softwares that I have used in the past are:

• Excel Solver
• Xpress Live (Optimizaiton)

Fun Facts

1. I am an only child and first generation college student
2. I have caught a 375 pound bull shark while deep sea fishing
3. I have been snowboarding down a volcano in Nicaragua
