After finishing my under-graduation, I have worked with Mu Sigma, a category-defining analytics and consulting firm for nearly 4 years. I have started as a trainee decision scientist and worked for the e-commerce wing of a major US retailer to support all the major marketing decisions during the peak holiday season.
Later, I was promoted to a decision scientist where I worked for a leading US airline and supported their CSAT campaigns and loyalty programs - It is during this stint that I went on to lead a team of 16 highly skilled business analysts and mentored them in problem-solving and client communication.
Some of the interesting problems I solved during my tenure include but are not limited to - Building a customer response model, Predictive maintenance for airline engine parts, CSAT analysis, building category level forecasts for ~1,000,000 SKUs.
The major reason I came to pursue my masters is to gain more hands-on experience as I was slowly pushed into a managerial role in my current company, a role that does not give me much time to practice my analytical skills.
My experience with R is limited to basic data cleaning and simple modeling. I am not very proficient in this programming language but would really love to become proficient, and hence took this awesome course!
I have pre-dominantly used SQL(HIVE/ Hadoop/ Teradata) and Excel during my tenure in Mu Sigma. Some other software I worked with temporarily include :
