Hello! My name is Samantha and I was born and raised here in Cincinnati, Ohio. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in the spring of 2018 with dual degrees in Accounting and Business Analytics. I have remained active in a National Women’s Fraternity as the House Corporation’s Treasurer. Additionally, I am active at the University by serving as a Graduate Assistant in the OBAIS department. When I am not fulfilling these duties, I spend my time outdoors either hiking, snow skiing, or wakeboarding [depends on the season].
I interned with Kroger in corporate logistics as well as corporate audit during my time as an undergraduate student. I joined the Kroger family as a full time auditor after graduation. In September I celebrated 1 year as a full time associate and 5 years with the company overall.
While in Corporate Logistics, I assisted with redevelopment of the Floral Supply Chain. I specifically evaluated and improved current processes regarding Special Orders service levels and customer satisfaction by researching suppliers and analyzing cost-effective transportation options. Additionally I standardized the Quality Assurance process to ensure consistent product accross all Distribution Centers. This was before I was exposed to any analytical software and therefore most of my work (data gathering and mining) was performed in Excel.
As a corporate Internal Auditor, I work in a number of Kroger-specific systems to gather and analyze documentation that support numbers reported on our financial statements. The work requires heavy travel to the many divisions of Kroger and its accounting centers. It has been enjoyable learning the financial side of a Fortune 20 Company while visiting all parts of our country!
I have only used R in academic settings, both in Undergraduate and Graduate school. I have learned introductory modeling but have only scratched the surface.
In academic settings, I have been exposed to the following analytic software:
