This project consisted of three parts:
Initial approach: in this step IOT Analytics approached Housebuilders in order to show the benefits of implementing sub-meters and what could be done with the data recollected with them.
Time Series: in this step I explored different time series predictive models in order to forecast the future energy consumption.
Energy Dashboard: in the last step I combined the lessons learned in the two previous steps in order to create a visual dashboard for the final client.
Room consume:
The bars show the percentage energy use of the given room relative to the whole house.
The target mark indicates the average consume of that room.
The big number in the middle show the energy consumption of that room.
Savings: The number displayed indicates in percent by how much the energy consume of the whole house increased or decreased relative to the average.
Cost: The number displayed indicates in the country currency the total cost of the energy used in the house.
Monthly Energy Consumption: This line chart shows the energy used of each room and the whole house by month. The legend above indicates which color corresponds to each room.
Navigation Menu: This menu lets you select a combination of zero, one or multiple years and/or months in order to modify the information shown in the other graphs and displays. It only displays past or current years, if the selected month has already passed it shows stored information, if its the current month or a future one it shows the forecasted information.
It has a Hide/Show button in order to see the forecast predictions of energy consumption of the next year.
2011 Forecast: This line chart shows the forecasted energy use of the following year in a thick line. The 2 thinner lines around show the error margins.
