Top Running Shoes in 2019

Runner’s World, a magazine for recretional runners, named their top running shoe brands for 2019. https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/gear/shoes/a776671/best-running-shoes-2019/.

I recently purchsed a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam running shoes and wanted to know how these shoes fared against competitors, like Nike and Addidas. According to the Runner’s World article, neither Nike or Addidas was among their chosen top 3 running shoes. The top 3 are:

  1. Hoka One’s One Carbon X

  2. Under Armour’s HOVR Guardian

  3. New Balance’s FuelCell Rebel

Question 1: What time of day are New Balance tweets sent?

The following shows the time of day that New Balance tweets were sent during the selected period. This shows that most tweets occur from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m and 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Question 2: What nations represent the highest number of New Balance tweets sent?

Although 118 tweets were sent during the sample period, not all tweets included a country of origin. However, 4 countries were identified by the tweets and the graphic below shows the countries by frequency of tweets.

Question 3: Are more Hoka One tweets sent than New Balance tweets during the sample period?

During the same sample period, 200 tweets were collected that mentioned Hoka One, indicating this brand was more active.

The following graphic shows that Hoka One tweets occurred each hour of the day, however, they were most active for only a smaller portion of the day: from 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Question 4: Was Hoka One mentioned by as many nations as New Balance?

The following graphic shows that more nations (6) mentioned Hoka One brand than New Balance (4). This implies that Hoka One may be recognized more internationally than New Balance.
