Hi! My name is Paul. I work as a physical therapist at Mercy Health helping patients recover physical function. I have completed my MS business analytics program and am looking to transition into a data scientist role. More personally, I am married to Kristin and a proud father of our two lovely daughters. I began my life as an American born abroad on the shores of Lake Simcoe in Canada. I still love swimming in cold water. That American pool water and bath water are temperature equivalent feels unnatural to my vestigial Canadian sensibilities, eh?

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with my B.S. degree in physical therapy have worked as a physical therapist primarily in an outpatient setting helping patients with orthopedic diagnoses. I developed an interest in healthcare research during my M.H.S degree and have been itching for a way to add investigation into my daily work life. That’s what led me into the Lindner College of Business M.S. Business Analytics program.
R has been my primary coding language over the past 2 years in graduate school. I have used R for everything from data manipulation to machine learning. I used R extensively for my summer research project in 2019 under the skilled guidance of Professor Yan Yu. My research project worked on a data set of audio variables used to predict a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. This web site contains the portfolio of my work inspired by that project.
