This report contains a short summary of visitors to NYSCI from July 10th to August 14th, 2018. Incoming visitors were requested to take the Exhibit Experience Postcard survey with a view to understanding the background of nature of their experience as well as finding ways to improving NYSCI experience for overall audiences.

Between July 10, 2018 and August 14, 2018, Connected World had the highest inflow of visitors (14%). The lowest attandance (5%) was at the Science Demonstrations.

Of all the visitors surveyed between July 10, 2018 and August 14, 2018, 74% were non-member/GA visitors and 26% were member visotors.


The above comparison shows an interesting contrast between the exhibits preferred by member visitors and non-member/GA visitors. The top three most visited exhibit areas by member visitors are Connected Worlds (16%), Preschool Place (15%) and Science Playground (13%). Some of the top most visited exhibit areas by non-member/GA visitors were Connected Worlds (12%), Animation Academy (10%) and Design Lab (8%), Preschool Place(8%) and Theater (8%).Further analysis on the type of membership the surveyed members had might give us an insight to the underlying cause of such difference in preference of exhibits bewteen member visitors and GA visitors.


Visitors were asked to rate the visited exhibit(s) on a scale of 0 to 10 on the basis of how enteraining they found the area to be. Connected Worlds received the highest average rating from the surveyed visitors for being an entertaining exhibit. The second top rated exhibit in the rank is Design Lab. Sports Challenge received the least average rating among all fourteen exhibits.
