A Temperature Map of Central Gothenburg City : Rstudio + QGIS3

Objectives:

  • Create a map that shows areas that are colder than 11°C.
  • Calculate the area of the areas that are colder than 11°C.

Methodology:

  1. creat an IDW Interpolation temperature layer with Temperatur22APRIL.txt for overall gradient color differentials
  2. Filter out the temperature less than 11°C from Temperatur22APRIL.txt and create IDW Interpolation temperature layer for this subgroup class
  3. transforms all the IDE interpolation layers to Raster Layers
  4. compute the area sizes with geometry calculator for selected areas
  5. combine all essential layers together !

Files used :

  • Temperatur22APRIL.txt: Temperature data from 2002-04-22 Text file

  • CentralaGBG.shp: Line vector layer for visualization Vector, line

Set Same Coordinate system To All files :

  • EPSG:3847 - SWEREF99 / RT90 2.5 gon V emulation - Projected
