Short Term Goals

This dashboard will be updated as IPEDS data, legislative roster and districts change. Undergraduate/Graduate size is linked to 2017-2018 12-month enrollment data and legislative roster and district list is updated as of July 22, 2019

Short term goals include:

  • Adding Community Colleges and AICCU Satellite institutions

  • Filterable by Affiliation, Satellite vs. Main Campus

  • Provide more detailed popup window on markers

  • Shifting to Shiny format to allow for real-time analysis. Example here

  • Pulling member pictures and twitter feeds into database

  • Linking tables and maps (and vice versa). Client-side preferable to not have to go to Shiny (server-side, costs money)

  • Creating report generation by district/member

  • Extending areas of exploration (connection to SQL server?) - healthcare, teachers, etc.

  • IPEDS - for all other information. Note that this is taken from the non-public 2017-2018 12-month enrollment data and as such, will not reflect what is currently shown on the IPEDS website. Will be updated accordingly.
