In this task, I analyzed the Connection recommender system at linkedin . This system gives you recommendation on potential useful connections to improve and enlarge your professional network.

1) Scenario Design

a) Who are the target users?

1.Professional desire to enlarge network. 2.Job seekers 3.Hiring Manager / HR

b) What are their key goals?

1.Professionals: Find other professionals that could potentially help their career development 2.Job seekers: Find professionals who already work in the industry or company 3.Hiring Manager / HR : Find right candidates.

c) How can you help them accomplish those goals?

The recommendation can help users to quickly identify the person to connect without setting filters and to search among huge networks.

2) Reverse Engineering

  • The connection recommendation system analyze your current networking and calculate the similarity between you and potential connections.
  • The system will recommend you connections with the highest similarity.
  • The system will also analyze your recent Connection adding activity and find similar candidates for you.

3) Recommendations

Current system has done a greate job. However sometimes I might receive connection recommendation who is fraudster. It would be great Linkedin could identify potential fraud connection and block them
