In search of Happiness

Happiness is 'Sukha' in Pāli word.

If we contemplate deeply within, we distinguished that the happiness originated in body and the happiness orginated in the mind.

Buddha taught us, there are three types of happiness in life:

Kāmasukha: The happiness on sensual pleasure

Nekkhammasukha: The happiness on renouncing sensual pleasure

Upasamasukha: The happiness on mental peace

It assumed that there are seven key factors that determine the degree of happiness in people. Therefore the seven score are caculated to rank the countries of happiness in the world. These include:

• Dystopia Residual
• Economy: GDP per Capita
• Corruption
• Generosity
• Freedom
• Health
• Social support

Within a year,Myanmar happiness score declined from 4.545 to 4.308.

In other words, the ranking status declined from worst 42 to worst 27 country in the world.

According to the determination of happiness score, we Myanmar are less happier from time to time.

It is concerned with the weakness in administration, corruption, health support system, freedom of choice, education and economy.

Power politics aim to win the election rather than for the good of people.

Personal ethic ('Sila' in Palī) are ruined among the people in Myanmar

Generosity, honesty and hospitality are the land mark of Myanmar in tradition, but it was lost in our hearts.

It is also found that there are two segments in the people.

The first group of people are learning and practicing the teaching of the enlightened one and they are in peace and harmony inside.

Another group or the majority of people are those who belived that they are the Buddhism, they think that they are protecting the religion and the nation and so they are the heros of the country and yet, burning inside.

Beautiful lotus blossoms from the muddy water ground. Similarly, very saintly persons surely be liberated under the atmosphere of chaos and depression.

Some people can maintain the internal peace within the unfavourable situations.

They do not attach on the things, the people and the situations. They live on the present moment without attachment. So, they are happy with Dhamma for every circumstance comes.

In conclusion, the world happiness score for Myanmar is well presented for the majority of the people in Myanamr, but the score is totally wrong for some people in Myanmar.

If there is a will, only one condition is setup in Myanmar, the corruption issues will be eliminated within the country forever that is to maintain the Silā( Abstain from stealing of others).
