About me

General Information

Hi my name is Tanvi I’m from Bombay, India. I love traveling and I love cats. I am also very environmentally conscious.

Academic Background

I’m a current MSIS graduate student at University of Cincinnati. I did my undergrad in Computer Science Engineering and graduate in 2015.

Professional Background

I used to work for IBM Software Labs in Bangalore as a Software Engineer. The team I worked for made Java SDKs packaged with IBM’s proprietary VM called J9. I used to write code in Java and have experience working with Linux systems which is why I love command lines.

Expereiene With R

I’ve used R in 2 subjects up until now

  • Statistical Computing
  • Data Analysis Methods

I’ve used it to fit regression models in a given data set and then perform various checks to make sure the model is adequate.

Experience with Other Analytic Software

At my job, I’ve used gnu plots in Shell to create plots for testing purposes. I’ve also used SAS in Statistical Computing. Currently I’m learning Tableau to understand visualizations better even though I’m taking the course later this Summer.
