INTRODUCTION

In contributing our meaningful quota to ensuring that the University of Liberia is ranked amongst the top twenty universities in West Africa within the next seven years, the OES remains committed to the execution of its commission. The exercises leading to UL December 2018 Commencement Convocations started on Monday, August 20, 2018, with OES receiving senior students application forms from various departments across all colleges within the University of Liberia. This date marked the beginning of UL Graduation 2018 Clearing Process. The process which was earmarked to conclude on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 was extended into November due to the enormous task of reconciling students’ grades from three source documents: Smart School, Schoollink and Instructors’ grade inputs. The process officially closed on Thursday, November 22, 2018. The clearing process began with OES Records Officers and department representatives vetting and pre-clearing applicants. Thereafter, the pre-cleared application forms were then forwarded to Associate Vice President (AVP) OES for verification and final clearance. Excel format of the lists of the cleared students were emailed to Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), which in turn forwarded it to respective Deans and Directors for subsequent presentation to the Faculty Senate for its consideration for endorsement of the prospective candidates. Accordingly, the Faculty Senate acknowledged, reviewed and endorsed qualified candidates for processing for graduation by OES. The UL December 2018 Graduation applicants were divided into five 5 categories based on time the application forms were submitted to OES and the time applicants were finally cleared: Category 1, Category 2A, Category 2B, Category 2C (comprising Medical School & School of Pharmacy), and Addendum. The sum of cleared candidates for all categories for UL December 2018 Graduation is three thousand, three hundred two (3,302) in total.
