Introduction

This a short report on the preferance of sandwiches in a chain of sandwich stands. The results are based on a conjoint study. For more information about the method, please see the wikipedia article.

The results are based on almost 800 interviews. They summarize the preference of 3 types of sandwiches and analyze the price elasticity of one of the products.

Sandwich preference

The scenario assumes a choice between 3 sandwiches: chicken, BLT and veggies

When presented with such choice, almost 50% of the respondents would choose the BLT sandwich.

Price elasticity

We also analyzed how the preference would change, if we changed the price of one product, namely the chicken sandwich, but left other prices unchanged.

It appears, that consumers would switch from chicken sandwich to BLT if the price of the first one increased. However, preferance of the veggies sandwich remains unchanged. It points to a loyal group, choosing the veggies sandwich - most likely vegetarians or vegans.
