I grew up in the Washington DC area. I have also lived in Iran, New Jersey, Virginia, Delaware, and Florida. I currently live in Mason, Ohio.
I am a strategic problem solver with experience designing databases, reporting analytics, and developing leaders. I have worked at IBM, KPMG, CRU, and Athletes in Action. The last 20 years I have been raising my two boys and have been very active volunteering in the Mason community. I have recently won two Case Competitions. In February my team won a competiton sponsered by Centric Consulting and WorldPay. The competition involved the changing fraud space as more transactions are with card not present. In September my team won the 84.51 competition on Kroger Product Loyalty. For that competition, I used SQL and Python to engineer many aggreaged fields and then we used Tableau and Excel to visualize our recommendations.
My experience with R was in the class Data Analysis Methods (BANA7038). My group analyzed Facebook metrics for a cosmetic company. Two other times I have started R projects but switched to Python. Once was with a Kaggle Competition on Home-Credit. I switched because my son wanted to join and he was more familiar with Python. I also started the 84.51 competition using R, but switched to Python because I was getting memory errors in R and did not get those errors when using Python. I’m looking forward to improving my R skills in this class, especially my data preparation skills!
